  • Care limits?

95% of residents stay without ever needing to leave & live in a nursing home.

60% have dementia.  Many use wheelchairs and lifts.  15% use hospice.

Our home is gentle.  We cannot help wandering or disruptive seniors.

2 residents moved here from locked units to enjoy our more gentle home.

We also cannot help extreme conditions, like with unstable brittle diabetes.

  • Home care?

One live-in aide moves in w/your Mom or Dad & sleeps 5-8 hours. Shady Oaks has a total care team & awake 24/7 care.

Live-in care is $9-12k / month plus food, utilities, & taxes. Shady Oaks is $6.5-9.5k / month plus VA&CT aid up to $5k / month.

Live-in care isolates disabled seniors.  Shady Oaks has live music, games, crafts, prayer, exercise, & hairdressing.

  • VA & CT aid?

In the past 5 years, we only lost 2 residents to running out of money.

Wartime vets can get $2.2k / month & surviving spouses get $1.4k / month.

Low asset seniors can get $2.2k to $2.9k / month from Connecticut.
